DuRide

We serve over two hundred and fifty members age 65 who need transportation in Dubuque, East Dubuque, and Asbury. 

All rides are provided by volunteers who drive their own vehicles. In a typical month, we provide 800 or more rides, and we currently have 148 volunteers.

Approximately 40% of the rides we provide are to medical appointments, and the remainder of our rides are to any number of other destinations, such as church, social engagements, jobs, shopping, cosmetology appointments, dinner, movies, gambling, family visits and most anything else. 

Donations to DuRide on Great Give Day will be directed to our Income Support Program, which provides free medical rides for over 60 income-limited members. Twenty-two percent of our members qualify for the program. 

Last year, 2,073 free medical rides, and 1,815 non-medical discounted rides were provided, at a cost of $19,957.

Support from the community, both with volunteers and with financial assistance, makes our program possible.
