The Froelich Foundation is collecting donations for what is to become our Evolution of Tractor History building filled with old-time tractors and equipment to enhance our tour guests experience as they visit our 1890s Froelich Village Museum site. This will create an opportunity to learn how the first gasoline-powered tractor was able to propel itself not only forward but also backward in 1892 here in the Village of Froelich, Iowa by John Froelich. This began the evolution of change from horsepower to steam power to this first gasoline powered tractor. This tractor was far-reaching in its effect on modern agricultural history. It moved out of this village and into the world in 1892. John Froelich headed up the Waterloo Gasoline Traction Engine Company in 1893 which later became the John Deere Tractor Company.
As John Froelich persevered to invent and build that first tractor, the Froelich Foundation for the Preservation of Farm Tractor History, Inc will also persevere to build this wonderful building to help share this history for many generations to come. We are a non-profit 501c3. Your donations are tax deductible. We are not county, state or federally funded. Through your donations, memberships and tour fees we have persevered for 40 years.
