The Red Basket Project of Dubuque is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing period poverty in the Dubuque community. We provide free menstrual hygiene products to individuals and families who may otherwise go without, helping to ensure dignity, health, and access to essential resources.

A core part of our approach is meeting people where they already are. By partnering with schools, food pantries, shelters, and other community organizations, we integrate menstrual product access into the places individuals and families are already going for support. This reduces barriers, increases accessibility, and ensures products are available in a consistent and stigma-free way.

Through these partnerships, we assemble and distribute period supply kits - called “period packs” - and provide ongoing restocking to our distribution sites. In addition to direct service, we work to raise awareness about period poverty and advocate for equitable access to menstrual products as a basic necessity for all.

The Red Basket Project is a 501(c)3 organization with no paid staff. All donations are tax deductible.
