First Congregational Church UCC

A nonprofit organization

At First Congregational Church, we are committed to providing relevant and engaging worship, providing quality educational opportunities to all, creating a culture of acceptance where differences are valued and connections to one another are fostered. We believe that God has a dynamic purpose for your life, and having a community of believers around you is part of that purpose. We know that God is doing great things at First Congregational, and we hope that you will come and see everything that God is doing in the lives of our family.

Worship Services at First Congregational
Sunday morning services at 9:30 AM that includes a moment when the pastor calls the children forward to hear a special message. Music spans the generations, so be prepared to delight in the voices of children in the Cherub and Youth Choirs, or the the sounds of bells played by teens and adults. Five choirs rotate with a blended musical style from around the world as well as classical anthems of the historic church, with communion on the first Sunday.

Children and Youth Ministries
Children and adults worship together at 9:30 AM but for infants and toddlers, we always offer professional childcare in our well-equipped nursery during both worship services and during the 9:30 education hour.
Kids Club, for children of all ages is held on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 PM with a family meal provided starting at 5:00 PM. Children have devotional time along with playing games and having discussions.
Youth Night ,specifically for middle and high school students, is available at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evenings during the school year, but students in that age group are also encouraged to explore any of the Faith Formation special guest speakers that catch their interest.

Coffee Fellowship
After worship services, we welcome you to join us in the lounge for coffee. If you would like, ask about any of the classes we have going and feel free to drop in!

Growing in Faith Hour
After worship at 10:35 AM is our Adult Sunday School which is held in the parlor in second floor. Some are ongoing book or Bible studies, but many are weekly "drop in" classes. We welcome you to join us for any of these classes.

Parking
There are several places to park on Sunday mornings. The closest lot is on the corner of 11th and Locust Street on West side of our building. We also can use the street parking surrounding the church and the parking lot across the church on 10th and Locust St.
During the week, members and guests can use the free parking spaces in our lot on the corner of 11th and Locust Street in spaces 1-12.

Our most visible local mission is the free Community Meal we serve to over a hundred people at our church every Thursday night. The "Cafe" Ministry has been a beacon of hope for the hungry and a deeply meaningful opportunity for service in Jesus' name for over 25 years.
