Bell Tower Productions, celebrating its 16th-Anniversary season in 2018, is a not-for-profit theater company that achieves our mission in numerous ways. We produce five plays and musicals each year, with an emphasis on works never before seen in the area. Recent examples include the United States premiere of "Buying the Moose" in February 2015 and the World premiere of "Guess Who's Coming to Christmas" in December 2016. Our award-winning youth theater programs, which serve more than 500 kids each year, include two full-scale musicals, one for ages 7 to 16 and another for high school students, both with no participation fee, and children's theater classes for grades pre-school through 8th grade.
We make our space available to local organizations such as the Dubuque Dance Studio so they have a place to perform their work. We often offer the theater space, props and costumes free or at a reduced cost to groups including the Dubuque Community Schools, Northeast Iowa Community College and Loras College. We regularly work with local youth, family and senior organizations to provide free tickets to those who cannot afford to attend. Each year 21,000 people attend our plays and participate in our programs. These patrons are of all ages, ethnicities and socio-economic backgrounds and include residents of the Dubuque Area and tourists from across the country.
