Dyersville Area Historical Society

A nonprofit organization

The Dyersville Area Historical Society owns and operates the Dyer-Botsford Historical House & Doll Museum. The house was built in 1850 by the founder of Dyersville, Englishman James Dyer. In 1988, when the house was about to be demolished, the Historical Society purchased it and with thousands of hours of volunteer labor, the house has been restored to its Victorian elegance. It now houses a large doll collection, antique furniture and unique displays of items significant to Dyersville's history.

The Dyersville Area Historical Society also operates a genealogical library consisting of a one-of-a-kind obituary collection, cemetery records, plat maps and many other resources to help family historians research their ancestors.
