The Monona Butterfly Gardens and Trail is a 6 acre Monona city park developed and maintained by volunteers. It consists of a Butterfly Garden, Memorial Garden, Garden View Park and a 1.5 mile gravel trail. In 2019, an addition to the trail was paved adding another 3/4 mile to the trail connecting it to Gateway Park and campground. It began as an Earth Year 2000 project and continues to develop. This endowment helps provide a sustained annual funding source for maintenance and development.
