About Us

Since 1900, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Dubuque has been the trusted after-school and summer home away from home for 1st- through 12th-graders across our community. We’re open to everyone, but over time have naturally stepped up to meet the kids who need us most—85% of our members come from families living at or below 50% of Dubuque’s median household income.

Our Five Core Programs

We deliver evidence-based, out-of-school experiences across five key areas:

Nutrition: Daily meals and snacks to combat food insecurity.

Physical Activity: Sports, games, and movement to build healthy bodies.

STEAM: Hands-on labs in science, technology, engineering, arts & math.

Brain Health: Our dedicated Brain Health Room offers a judgment-free space for social-emotional learning.

Leadership & Life Skills: Youth-led projects and mentoring to foster responsibility, accountability, curiosity, and community engagement.
