Camp Albrecht Acres of the Midwest

Camp Albrecht Acres was founded in 1978 as a unique environment for adults and children with special needs. During their stay at camp, our campers get to learn new things, and experience opportunities and challenges in a safe environment adapted specifically for their special needs. From our humble beginnings camping in tents, Camp Albrecht Acres has blossomed into a 40-acre residential camp serving hundreds of campers each summer.  Counselors and staff love being able to experience a camper's first swim in a pool, or hooking their first fish, or seeing them interact with new people that will become lifetime friends. Campers create masterpieces in our arts and crafts sessions, learn about nature in our Nature Center, and enjoy social time during our dances each week!  Camp Albrecht Acres is generously funded by our community who understand the need for recreational services for our local population of people with special needs. Through this funding, Camp Albrecht Acres is able to provide financial aid to campers (called a "campership") to ensure we do not turn away people that cannot financially afford to pay camp fees.
