$2,000 Goal

Pandemic, flood, tornado, hazardous material spill: We never know when disaster will strike in our community. Each emergency requires preparedness and timely response to support communities and residents with relief and recovery efforts.

In 2023, the Clayton County Foundation for the Future established the Clayton County Disaster Recovery Fund to assist with relief and ongoing, long-term recovery, clean up, and support of individuals and communities affected by disaster.

We partner with nonprofit and governmental agencies, including the Clayton County Disaster Recovery Committee and the county emergency manager, to support agencies delivering essential services to disaster survivors. Dollars remaining in the fund after disaster needs have been met will be retained for future emergencies.

As your local community foundation, we give donors a proven and responsible way to ensure their gifts help people efficiently and effectively. Community foundations serve as a trusted connection between donors and critical needs during a disaster. It’s one of the many ways we specialize in building a better, stronger community, and it’s a task we take seriously. We stay informed and connected with responders and service providers so your donations can be disbursed immediately and efficiently when they are needed most.

In light of the weather disasters in our state last year, we are acting fast to capture a $5,000 match from the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque for our Clayton County Disaster Recovery Fund. To get there, we need to first raise at least $5,000 locally - and we need your help. We ask for your consideration of a contribution of any size so that we can meet our match goal and be prepared to respond to future disasters in our county.
