Garnavillo Economic and Industrial Development Committee (GEIDC) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting and improving Garnavillo. We are focused on improving the central business district, increasing events and town activities, partnering with city and county development to both retain and expand businesses in the community and work with City to promote the housing development on the south side of town. Our slogan is "Growing Garnavillo".
Our current list of initiatives are as follows:
Paint Iowa Beautiful Grant for facades of 3 Main Street businesses
Banners promoting our civic and non-profit groups along Main Street
Farmers Market in City Park from end of May to October
Social Media contests promoting gardens, outdoor displays and seasonal interest
Working with City to promote new housing lots for $500 plus legal costs.
Long Term goals:
Support City of Garnavillo efforts to improve and expand the GEM playground in the new addition
Work with City of Garnavillo to improve the central business district curb, gutter & sidewalks to make intersections ADA compliant
Work with Clayton Ridge Schools and City of Garnavillo to install a Safe Routes to School and improve lower playground
