The Society conducts weekly "Brown Bag Lunches" to which the public is invited. Each brings their lunch, associates with interesting people, and listens to programs which touch on different aspects of Jackson County history. The Iowa Orphan Train Research Center is also housed in our facilities - and we have restored the last remaining narrow gauge railroad depot in Iowa as well as built a replica of a combination car which sits on the tracks. The era of the Bellevue / Cascade Railroad is an exciting chapter of Jackson County history.
