Museum guest, Marilyn wrote “What a wonderful surprise to find
such a big treasure in a small town.
The history and exhibits on display at the Wilder Memorial Museum
reflect the
pride and dedication of the citizens of Strawberry Point
to their past as it’s
presented to current and future generations.”
These expressions of gratitude (comments) are why the Wilder Memorial Museum strives to tell the story of the past through conservation and preservation! Every collection has a story to tell. Help us tell that story through your donation.
Use of social media to tell the story of our collections is being implemented to capture the memories of an earlier day when our collections were part of someone’s daily life whether it be at home, school, work or play!
Funds raised on this Great Give Day will allow us to continue our mission “to preserve and maintain collections reflecting the heritage of the people of Strawberry Point, Iowa, and the surrounding communities, promoting education and increasing awareness of the culture and diversity of Northeast Iowa”. Currently we are working on textile items in our collections, quilts, military uniforms, and other clothing or household items.
