Holy Spirit Parish

Holy Spirit Parish was established in July of 2011 with the merger of Holy Ghost, Holy Trinity and Sacred Heart parishes located on the North End and Point areas of Dubuque. The former parishes were established between 1878 and 1910. The total membership of Holy Spirit Parish is approximately 4,200. The parish exists to provide services and assistance for the poor, to visit the sick and home-bound, to catechize children and adults, to nurture youth, console the bereaved, and to study scripture and evangelize the unconverted according to Roman Catholic faith.

Funds raised through Great Give Day 2025 will be used to repair  and update the large public clocks which are located on the main steeple of Sacred Heart Church, located at Windsor Ave & 22nd St.  The clocks were originally installed in the early 1980's, but have not operated over the past few years due to mechanical issues which the parish now hopes to address and correct.
