Dear Friends,
Join Us in Breaking the Cycle of Generational Poverty
Generational poverty doesn't end by chance—it ends with action. At Fountain of Youth, we are dedicated to transforming lives by tackling poverty at its roots. We invite you to stand with us—alongside our board, participants, and community partners—as we work to build a stronger, more equitable future for all.
Why Our Work Matters
For too long, individuals in our community have faced barriers alone. The cycle of poverty persists not just because of economic hardship, but because of deeply embedded mindsets and systems that limit opportunity. We believe real change starts with:
Mindset Shifts
Education and Life Skills
Job Readiness and Training
Supportive Community Relationships
We are proud to be doing the hands-on, grassroots work in Dubuque that helps people reclaim their power, purpose, and potential.
Your Role in the Movement
Becoming a supporter of Fountain of Youth isn’t just about giving—it’s about joining a movement. Whether through financial contributions, partnerships, or in-kind support, your involvement makes transformation possible.
You can help:
Equip individuals with essential life and career skills
Bridge cultural divides in our community
Provide access to resources that create a lasting impact
Be Part of the Change
The work is not easy, but it’s worth it. Your support fuels real progress, one mindset, one life, one future at a time.

Together, we can create a Dubuque where every person has the opportunity to rise.
"Jerry has successfully completed Phase 1: Knowledge of Self and Others, where he learned accountability, positivity, and risk-taking for success. His motivation led him to enroll in a Culinary Arts class, and he is nearing completion of his time at the halfway house.
In Phase 2: Financial Literacy, Jerry mastered budgeting, saving, resource management, and credit building, realizing his debt was less than expected. During this phase, he completed his Level 3 program, transitioned to day reporting, moved into our transitional living house, earned a Culinary Arts certificate from Northeast Iowa Community College, and celebrated 7 months of sobriety.
In Phase 3: Health and Wellness, Jerry focused on healthier eating habits and understanding the connection between mental health and relationships. He started counseling, completed his IDAP classes, gained full custody of his daughter, maintained a steady job for 7 months, reached 9 months of sobriety, and is actively participating in ASAC training."
"Jeffrey joined our program while in prison in 2023. He was released in July 2023 since then he has completed all phases of Partners In Change, has maintained a living wage employment career opportunity, has been promoted, bought a vehicle, maintains a bank account, is participating in our ICARE housing program where he is renting a house, reconnecting with his teenage son, building relationships with his entire family after 7 1/2 years incarcerated. Jeff continues to volunteer for any opportunity to help in the community."
"Rebecca has successfully completed phase 1 of Partners in Change. She has resumed her longtime career as a stylist, maintained her home ownership, and transformed her relationships with her children. Rebecca continues to thrive in new challenges by consistently applying the principles and skills she developed through her disciplined self-development process."
