Step 1: Accessing Your Peer-to-Peer Fundraiser Dashboard
Visit greatgiveday.org and click the Log In option in the top-right corner of the website. Once you've logged into your Mightycause user account, click on your name in the top-right corner of your screen to open your user menu. Select the 'Managed Causes' option to see a list of Fundraiser pages that you manage. Locate the peer-to-peer fundraiser page you created for Great Give Day and click the 'Manage' option.
Start by clicking the 'Story Page' option on the left-hand navigation menu. Be sure to toggle on the 'Edit Mode' option on the right-hand side of your screen.
Title (Required)
The title of your peer-to-peer fundraising page will be one of the first pieces of information your friends and followers see. Your title should make it immediately clear who you are and what organization you're fundraising for. This section has a limit of 50 characters.
Cover Photo (Required)
Your cover photo is the "face" of your peer-to-peer fundraiser page. Avoid using blurry or pixelated photos. The container for your cover photo is 1280 x 720 pixels, so your photo will need to be at least that big. If you upload a smaller photo, it may become distorted within the container, which affects the overall quality of your page. A photo with landscape orientation is best.
Goal
How much are you hoping to raise for your favorite nonprofit? How many donors are you looking to have? Make sure that you set an attainable goal that inspires your network to support your cause. Goals that are set too high or too low can have a demotivating affect on donors. Keep in mind that you an always adjust your goal as your campaign progresses!
Summary
When you link to your fundraiser on social media, this summary will also show below your over photo. There is a 100 character limit, so it's best to stick to the facts. In one sentence, why are you fundraising? The Story section of your peer-to-peer fundraiser page is the place to elaborate further.
Duration
Every fundraiser must come to an end and you want to be sure your donors know the last day to give! As a reminder, Great Give Day ends on May 21, 2025 at 11:59:59pm CT.
Expense Breakdown
This section is typically utilized by organizations when they create an internal fundraiser. We recommend not utilizing this section for your Great Give Day fundraiser.
Story (Required)
This is the most important part of your peer-to-peer fundraiser page! Having a well-written, compelling and heartfelt story is vital to running a successful peer-to-peer fundraising campaign. Mightycause has a user-friendly in-line editor that allows you to add photos, videos, links and more! There is a 5,000 character limit to this section.
Updates
Updates are a great way to share news about your campaign, thank your donors for helping you hit a milestone, and keep the people who've already supported you engaged in your campaign. You can add an update anytime by selecting the updates tab and clicking 'Post an update'. This tab will not be visible to donors visiting your page if there are no updates yet.
Widgets
Do you have a website or a blog where you want to promote your peer-to-peer fundraiser page? Mightycause has created a widget that allows you to embed and collect donations.
Matching Grants
If you are interested in securing or providing a matching grant to incentivize your network to support your peer-to-peer fundraiser page, please reach out to the organization you're fundraising on behalf of and make sure you have a clear plan for how the organization will receive those matching funds. For additional information about matching grants, please review this Mightycause support article.
Donation Form
Customize the suggested donation amounts displayed when a user clicks on the 'Donate' button on your peer-to-peer fundraiser page. We recommend setting no more than four donation levels, being sure they are within a range that is attainable for most donors.
Thank You Page
When a donation is completed, donors will be sent to a Thank You Page that contains a customized message from your peer-to-peer fundraiser page. You can build your custom message in a simple text editor that allows you to add links, videos, images and more.
Donation Receipt
One of the benefits of using the Mightycause platform is that we handle distributing tax receipts to donors automatically. You can insert a customized message into the receipt that donors to your peer-to-peer fundraiser receive.
The 'Settings' section of your fundraiser dashboard has a few key items to be aware of.
Custom URL
When you create a peer-to-peer fundraiser page, your page will automatically be given a URL. It's a random series of letters and numbers. You have the ability to customize your url if you desire, but keep it short and make sure it's relevant to your page.
Metrics Calculation
Please set your metrics start date to 05/19/2025 at 12:00:00 AM CT.
You can accept donations to your peer-to-peer fundraising page during the Great Give Day window (May 19 - May 21). To share your peer-to-peer page with your network you can do the following:
